LIVESTOCK/AGRICULTURAL PROJECTS Livestock is a very important part of life in the village. Many families would be greatly helped by having a cow or a few sheep. We will work on an exchange program using sheep and occasionally goats. This project is not unique to Most Prijateljstva. Other organizations have used this program of giving livestock. The project would include giving animals to a family. When the animals reproduce, the family would then return 2-3 of the animals to us and we would then give those to another family. We plan to begin this project using smaller livestock and work up towards cattle. Cows are the main animal that will benefit a family the very most. A cow can provide milk, cheese and sour cream for a family. This will also provide the chance for a future small business. The villages are in a rural area and agricultural is a way of life for almost the entire population of this area. We are looking at ways to provide bees, hives and training programs to families. Bees can provide honey for a family and also the possibility of a future small business. There are fruit trees in our area with apples, plums and other indigenous fruits. We will be working to provide trees for those who do not have any and also ways to possibly begin small businesses from the trees.
