PeaceBridge International - Projects [House Construction/Humanitarian Aid]

Housing reconstruction/construction is a very viable part of our work here in the villages. While no homes in our area were damaged or destroyed during the war in 1992-1995, many families were displaced as a result of ethnic cleansing in other areas. Also, with unemployment at such a high rate, families are not able to upkeep matienence on their homes and many are in a fallen state of repair.

Most Prijateljstva is working alongside the village leaders to identify the families in the greatest need. Our goal for 2004 is to reconstruct/construct six homes. Each home has a cost of approximately $4000.US

We believe strongly in a holistic approach to our work and humanitarian aid is a big part of that. Our humanitarian aid efforts will include providing school supplies for the children in the villages, providing transportation services to older children who must attend high school in the city, periodic small clothing distribution, and other various projects.
